In addition to classes, professional tutors are on staff to offer extra help. Flexible hours allow students to supplement classroom learning with focused tutoring in areas of need.
The Adult Education Center offers free, state of the art technology including computer labs for students. Develop strong computer skills to prepare for the GED, participate in Listening Labs for English Language acquisition, or stay late to complete homework, apply for jobs, or conduct your college search.
Child Care Center
A free child care center is on site at our Washington Street school. The Center also supports our Family Literacy Programs.
Our school library has hundreds of books, magazines, reference guides and other resources. It’s a quiet place to study and complete assignments.
A full time licensed Social Worker is on staff to help students tackle barriers to success.
College & Career Specialist
Many Adult Education students have plans to attend college and/or secure employment. A full time professional is on staff to assist with college and career planning.

Official copies of GED diplomas are access through the CT State Department of Education.
The Adult Education Center follows protocol for Hartford Public Schools. Delays or cancelations due to bad weather are posted to local radio and television stations. Students can also call: (860) 695-SNOW
